Leadership Team

Craig Nelson, President – Craig Nelson is President and CEO of Washington Employers. Craig’s strategic vision ensures that the organization recruits, develops, and engages talented employees to facilitate the unique needs of members. Craig joined Washington Employers in 1987, and has more than 30 years of business management experience. He holds a B.S. degree from the University of Oregon, and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant. He also holds an insurance license in Washington state.

Arthur Dalessandro, Director, Workers’ Compensation Services. —  Arthur M. Dalessandro is Vice President, TPA Services for Washington Employers where he oversees the largest Manufacturing Retrospective Rating Program in the state of Washington with an excess of 36 million dollars in annual premiums. He also oversees Pension Services, Unemployment Compensation, Sales and Marketing, and the Shared Services department. Art has more than 25 years of workers’ compensation experience, 20 of which has been focused on Washington State Retrospective Rating and Third Party Administration. He joined the Washington Employers Team in 1995.

Joseph Marth, Manager of Human Resources Consulting Services — Dr. Joseph Marth is the Manager of Human Resources Consulting Services, where he leads a team of HR and organization development professionals responsible for a full range of consulting services for members. He joined Washington Employers in 2008 and has more than 18 years of experience in organization development, including experience at small companies, Fortune 500 corporations, and nonprofit organizations. He holds a doctorate in Education from the University of Akron. He also holds an M.S. from the University of Akron and a B.B.A. from Kent State University. Joseph is a full member of the American Psychological Association and the Society of Consulting Psychology, and holds numerous certifications in training and organization development.

Julie Piazza, SPHR - Julie Piazza is a Human Resources Professional who joined Washington Employers in 2011. In her role, Julie is the organization’s internal HR professional. She has more than 20 years of experience in Human Resources, and is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR). She holds a B.A. degree from the University of California at Santa Barbara.
