Workplace Safety

Primary tabs

Workplace safety is critical to protecting your employees. With the right planning and training, you can avoid injuries to your employees and contract workers, prevent dangerous workplace activities, and give your team the knowledge and tools to help them keep your workplace accident-free. Keeping the safety of your employees top-of-mind will help save your organization thousands of dollars in workers compensation claims and keep your people performing and productive.

    L&I Calculator

Our Group Retro program is merit-based and refunds a portion of workers’ comp premiums to members who have a better-than-average loss history. Use our L&I Calculator on the right to explore what your possible refund would be if you were part of our Group Retro program. If you do not know your “standard” premium or claims, complete the Authorization Form and we can obtain them for you. Our L&I Calculator is for demonstration purposes only and is based upon an 8 year average of our group’s performance.  It is not a guarantee of future refunds but can be used as a reliable indicator of your potential average annualized refund. For a personalized calculation of your likely refund, contact Arthur M. Dalessandro at 206.329.1120 or email him at adalessandro@wa-emp.com

    Safety PulsePoint

Our Safety PulsePoint team is comprised of experts in the fields of safety, organizational development, and learning & development. We examine safety issues from every possible angle so that we can provide your organization with achievable, sustainable solutions to achieve the highest level of safety in your workplace. Our Safety PulsePoint program is conducted in three phases:

    • Safety Audit: Starting with a current state assessment, our Safety & Loss Control team will review and analyze five years of claims history, conduct a physical hazard inspection, and thoroughly audit all your written safety policies and procedures.
    • Root Cause Analysis: To get at the underlying, systemic issues that might be holding your organization back, we conduct a company-wide safety survey, followed by comprehensive diagnostic interviews with key members of your staff. Through this deep analysis we uncover the obstacles in your workplace culture that hinder your ability to achieve a safe and hazard-free work environment.
    • Action Plan: Finally, our Organization Development Specialists will work with your leadership to create a safety program tailored for your workplace. Every recommendation is tailored to your organization based on our findings and addresses any underlying problems. We also train your leadership team on the outcomes of our assessment and the key factors driving our recommended changes.
