Archived Webcast (On Demand Course): Employment Law Update

This program is designed for human resources and management professionals.

Each year brings many changes in laws, regulations and court interpretations affecting employers in Washington State. This course will review recent changes and other relevant employment law updates.

There will be a question and answer period during which participants will have the opportunity to explore subjects of particular interest in individual situations.

Topics that will be covered include:

New federal legislation
New state legislation
Recent state and federal court decisions
Pending state and federal legislation

After completing this course, participants will be able to:

Identify the most important case law, statutory and regulatory developments in the areas of wrongful discharge, wage and hour, discrimination, employee privacy, medical leaves, worker's compensation, workplace safety and unemployment compensation occurring during the preceding six months
Develop and prioritize strategies to address these recent developments
Identify available resources to assist in legal compliance

Prerequisites:

Completion of the Washington Employers Employment Law for Washington Business Program or an equivalent program/experience.
