This course is designed for human resource professionals.
The purpose of Affirmative Action is to remedy current and past effects of workplace discrimination. It differs from Equal Employment Opportunity in that it entails more than passive nondiscrimination. Affirmative Action is a proactive approach to eliminating workplace inequity and is a step toward creating a more diverse and inclusive organizational culture. This entails examining and modifying your organization through a number of processes and procedures.
Your organization may be required to create and implement an Affirmative Action Plan (AAP) if you have at least 50 employees and $50,000 in federal contracts or subcontracts. This can be an overwhelming process even for the most seasoned HR professionals. Because of the complexities of Affirmative Action regulations, once the plan is completed, many employers neglect to follow through with fully implementing the program.
This newly expanded course is designed for those who have had a plan for years, as well as those who are new to Affirmative Action. It is filled with engaging activities and interactive dialogue to enhance your learning experience.
