Supervisory Skills
Our Most Popular Course - Completely Revised for 2010!

This course is designed for supervisors and managers.

Over the past two decades, Washington Employers has worked with thousands of supervisors to help them learn the skills necessary to thrive in their roles.

To meet the needs of the supervisor in the new decade, Washington Employers is pleased to announce that this course has been completely revised. It now provides a more robust experience to give supervisors the personal, interpersonal and group skills to be influential in one-on-one situations, facilitate group performance and increase their effectiveness.

Because the first level of supervision in any organization has a dramatic impact on employee performance and behavior, Supervisory Skills now includes more structured activities - participants practice new skills and build the confidence necessary to apply these new behaviors on the job.

In addition to revising and improving this dynamic program, you'll notice that it is being offered in a variety of formats to better meet the needs and preferences of our members. For the first time, Supervisory Skills is being offered in three distinct configurations:

  • As a six-week program, offered in half-day segments once a week
  • As a three-week program, offered in full-day segments once a week
  • As a one-week program, offered in full-day segments on three consecutive days

Come join us as Washington Employers builds on its rich tradition of increasing supervisor success for its members.

Topics that will be covered include:

  • The role of the supervisor
  • Communication skills
  • Feedback and coaching
