This course is designed for leadworkers.
Washington Employers has, for over 15 years, provided high quality Leadworker training that equips Leads for their unique working relationships and responsibilities.
As the workplace has continued to change, Washington Employers has revised our trainings to meet the needs of our members. We are excited to present our updated and improved two-part Leadworker Effectiveness series.
Because we understand that many leads not only have the responsibility for their work but they also have responsibility for the work of others they are working side-by-side with, we have included more structured activities to practice new skills and build confidence in getting work done through others without organizational authority. This program focuses on the changing relationships for Leads and the skills needed to effectively communicate and train other employees.
Topics that will be covered include:
- Understanding the role of the Leadworker
- Effective use of communication skills
- A feedback message model
- Setting expectations
- On-the-job training
After completing this course, participants will be able to:
- Compare and contrast the role of the Leadworker with the role of the supervisor and non-Lead employee
- Demonstrate the use of open-ended questions
- Display Active Listening techniques
- Provide feedback using a five step process
- Effectively set expectations with employees
- Train employees utilizing a four step process
