|1990s||Washington Employers anticipated the need for specialized HR expertise and provided HR experts to members through a comprehensive HR advice and counsel solution—allowing members to focus their attention on their organization's business needs.|
|1980s||Washington Employers added a "Group Workers’ Compensation Retrospective Rating Program” that allowed its manufacturing and processing members to join together and actively work towards a safer work environment.|
|1950s||Washington Employers added Multi-Employer Medical and Pension Plans and a management service that included the representation of members before governmental regulatory agencies and keeping members up-to-speed with the latest developments in the area of employee relations.|
|1947||The organization assumed the name Washington Employers, Inc. in order to expand to other industries and provide additional services.|
Founded in 1936, the organization was formed by a group of employers in the metal trades industry who saw the need for a business league that would help promote employer cooperation and coordination in the field of labor and employee relations. The league quickly grew both in numbers and diversity resulting in the expansion of their employee-relations services.
